As part of the Tamil Language Festival 2023, the Singapore Tamil Youths' Club (STYC) organised a Conference Seminar on Sunday 16th of April at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Center. The theme of the conference seminar was "Expanding the Social Environment for Spoken Tamils in Singapore". The function started at 9 a.m. Mr. P. Moorthy, PBM. Bt Panjang Grassroot Leader joined us as our distinguished guest of honour. Ms. Zaheera Begum, Singapore MediaCorp, joined us as a special guest. Associate Professor Dr. Seetha Lakshmi gave a keynote address at the function.

Overall the function was a huge success with 11 research panels and 45 panelists. The conference seminar is the third in our annual conferences during the Tamil Language Festival. The project was supported by the Tamil Language Council, Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee, Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Center and STYC's donors. Ms Premananth Lavanya is the Chairperson of the Conference Steering Committee, with Ms K. Devadharshini, Ms M. Abisha, Mr S. Pranaven, Ms Brinda Selvam, Mr A. Maaran and all the Advisors as members. All the active 40 members formed the various subcommittees that made the Conference Seminar a success in the post COVID period.
